     Omex
Engine Management ECUs are high performance, easy to install, easy to map systems designed with the Clubman competitor in mind. They offer all the advanced features required by the professional user to allow the ultimate performance to be achieved from most engines.
 
      All systems offer true 3-dimensional mapping, have user adjustable correction tables and are programmable either with the engine stationary or in real time whilst the engine is running. The software runs on most PCs under Microsoft Windows 95/98 and offers full graphical control of all functions.
 
     Ignition only and ignition & fuel version are available. Each is available with 2 triggering methods to suit the engine being used. These 2 methods cover nearly all engine configurations.
 

 
Ignition Only Systems (100 Series)
 

OMEM100 Suitable for 4-cylinder engines. Ford 36-1 teeth flywheel pattern or Bosch (Vauxhall) fitting 60-2 teeth. Distributorless ignition. Will interface directly to Ford or Vauxhall engines with flywheel pickup already on engine (eg Ford Zetec or Vauxhall 2.0 16v). Alternatively the crank wheel can be fitted to most engines.
 
OMEM150 Suitable for distributor based engines from 1 to 8-cylinder. Sensor pickup can be from either the distributor or from a machined wheel or slots on the crankshaft front pulley.
 

 
Fuel and Ignition Systems (500 Series)
 

OMEM500 Suitable for 4-cylinder engines. Ford 36-1 teeth flywheel pattern or Bosch (Vauxhall) fitting 60-2 teeth. Distributorless ignition and semi-sequential fuel injection. 700 Series Engine Management Systems
 

OMEM740/760/780 These sytems compliment the existing range by offering many additional features. They are suitable for 4-cylinder (OMEM740), 6-cylinder (OMEM760) and 8-cylinder (OMEM780) distributorless applications. There is also an anti-lag option for Turbos, Turbo boost control, separate fuel pump/shift light/tachometer outputs, MAF capability, knock sensing, sequential injection and coil-per-plug applications to name but a few of it's abilities.
 
 
NOTES

 
All systems are 3-dimensionally mappable. The load sites are measured by a TPS or a MAP sensor. Engine speed sites are every 400 rpm which offers an excellent compromise between ease and speed of mapping against accuracy. All in between points are automatically interpolated so the ideal value is always available for the engine.
 
User programmable correction is provided for coolant temperature so that the correct fuel mixture is available for the engine at all times. When a MAP sensor is used to measure engine load, correction for ambient (barometric) pressure is inherently automatic, when a TPS is used, a 1 bar MAP sensor may be used in addition to gain this feature.
 
All ignition amplifiers and injector drivers are inbuilt, increasing reliability and reducing the amount of external wiring and the cost of external parts required. Battery voltage compensation is inbuilt into the fuelling ECUs and coil charge time is user adjustable in all ECUs. Inlet air temperature compensation for fuelling is also available by adding an air temperature sensor.
 
All the ECUs have an inbuilt fault code display LED. This means that in the event of a fault occuring it is displayed on an LED fitted to the ECU to enable quick and easy diagnosis of any problemn without having to plug in a computer.
 
An auxilliary output is available that can be configured by the user to operate one of a tachometer, a shift light or a fuel pump control. All Omex ECUs have inbuilt over-rev limiters. Programmable idle stabilisation is now fitted to all systems.
 
 
WIRING HARNESS

 
Wiring harnesses are available for each application in a semi-assembled form. They have all the connections attached to the mating plug for the ECU and have long wires attached ready for joining to the sensors and injectors as required. All the connectors are available for the injectors, sensors and coil etc.

SENSORS

 
Many engines will use the standard crank pickup supplied with the engine. Alternatively we can supply a trigger wheel and crank sensor (CPS). An Omex water temperature sensor is supplied with the ECU and the air temperature sensor is optional. We can also supply many throttle potentiometers to suit the majority of throttle bodies - please contact for details. Alternatively, the engine may be mapped using most 1 bar MAP sensors. For Turbo cars, we can supply a 3 bar MAP sensor. The 1 bar MAP sensor can be used for barometric compensation if required.
 

 
SOFTWARE

 
The Omex software is windows based and very easy to use. Most functions are available in both graphical and tabular formats.
