At the 2001 Winners at the Web awards ceremony, Need for Speed was commended for Best Small Business.

The awards are held annually in recognition of exemplary use of technology to benefit businesses or organisations. The judging panel measure verifiable gains such as additional revenue from new clients, cost savings, enhanced market intelligence and improved customer and supplier relationships. They also assess websites for their design, functionality and innovation.

The Best Small Business award is open to all businesses with up to 49 employees - typically those vigorous and creative early-stage organisations which are exploiting markets or using the Internet as a cost-control discipline.
